  • Say "Let me consult others." No one with the common sense of business or social transctions is likely to thrust something down your throat at once. So the feasible excuse is to use the delaying tactics saying let me consult others.
  • Say "I will get back to your offer." Most people want a quick answer whether you accept something or not. To avoid an embarassment of a hasty answer, say you will get back to their offer.
  • Say "I will look into it." Politicians world over say no to something using this phrase, which is an effective tactic to buy time and reject something.
